NMPF National Dairy Leadership Scholarship Program

The National Milk Producers Federation (NMPF) Board of Directors offers several scholarships each year to qualified Ph.D. and graduate level students who are actively pursuing dairy-related fields of research which are of immediate interest to the dairy industry and NMPF member cooperatives.

Organized in 1916, NMPF is the oldest farm commodity organzation in the United States and continues to represent the interests of dairy cooperatives that are owned and operated by dairy farm families. NMPF provides a forum through which dairy farmers and dairy cooperatives may formulate national policy on issues effecting the production of milk and dairy beef.

NMPF encourages graduate-level students who are working in a dairy-related field of research to submit an application. Recommended fields of study include but are not limited to:

  • Agriculture Communications and Journalism
  • Animal Health
  • Environmental Science
  • Economics
  • Food Safety
  • Genetics
  • Herd Management
  • Marketing and Price Analysis
  • Nutrition
  • Product Development

To qualify for a NMPF National Dairy Leadership Scholarship, applicants must be currently enrolled in a graduate degree program. Please complete the NMPF Scholarship Application form (accessible below) and send it to the NMPF office. Requirements for the scholarship are listed on the application form. Applications must be received by May 9, 2008.

Scholarship recipients will be selected by the National Milk Producers Federation’s Board of Directors no later than June 11, 2008, and will be notified soon after.
